It is a K&D set, so the diameter of the punches is common (4.7mm).

Cousins UK looks like a great resource, but there is a 100# minimum order.

Anyone have a spare triangular punch on hand?

There is a big NAWCC event in Mesquite this weekend.  I was planning to go and that was one of the items on my list to look for.  Looks like I am gonna skip the trip because it is a 4hr drive, and I have so many other things going on right now.  Hate it...but gotta keep priorities straight.  Only 3.5hr drive for you.

I don't see that.  The last time I ordered, I did not see this minimum requirement.

There's no minimum order from Cousins -you can buy a single item if you want.

As an aside - I've asked this before but didn't get an answer:

Does anyone know ( you must @JohnR725 ! ) what this thing does, with a plastic cap one end, and flat brass at the other?

What is the diameter?  It looks like a lathe tailstock runner which would have a diameter of about 7.6mm

It's the same diameter as all the other stakes in my Boley and Leinen set - about 4.67mm

This is a hand setting pusher.
I use it often for setting the hour hand (loose dial).

the problem with staking his sets are they often come with mystery items. I've seen that before I think we might have one at work I'll have to check. Don't have one in my set and I'll have to see if there is one at work to look at it. I know when I get together from time to time with a group of watchmakers we bite have a discussion on mystery tools and mystery tools can include things found in the staking septic nobody seems to know what they're used for.

For instance if you look in the catalog found at the link below I don't recall seeing it. which just means for looking at the wrong Of

eBay has cut into the regionals and declining membership. But at least in the past I found the regional meetings the best place to buy stuff tools watches whatever. then if you took your time to search through all the bins and boxes of each of the Sellers is amazing what she would might feel the dig up.. Because as I said before eBay this is where lives sell their stuff and the miscellaneous tools they might be selling at a dollar a tool or something but today with eBay who knows. If you've never been to regional well worth going at least one time.

The pocket watch case dent remover? Or is that a holder for the stakes? I assume that set was from a time before stake holders were invented?

I don't suppose there's any indication of who made it stamped anywhere on the base or the punches themselves? Then an interesting assortment you have including three punches for insane people who like to work on cylinder watches. You don't always find those and you definitely don't find those in modern sinking sets as modern watchmakers have come to their sanity and don't work on cylinder watches.

I know I've seen the set before although the discussion below probably wasn't where I saw it interesting to get a catalog page don't know if we get an answer of what is for?

Like the usual ones, just your hand is the vertical guiding tool.

They were cheaper for those who could not afford the big one. Here the stakes are usually 4.0 mm.

      I've noticed that some things are shipped from my country as well. Unlikely you will use any of the drills under 0.4mm, 0.4 seems about right for most re-pivot work for average watch sizes. Besides 0.3mm and under are extremely fragile and I found near impossible to sharpen, the flutes are so shallow and it's difficult to determine where to start grinding in the cutting and clearance angles once you've broken them.

      Hi guys! I’ve just changed a watch battery for a friend of mine & he says it keeps stopping on him when he puts it on to go out, he says if he takes it off a pulls the crown & puts the crown back in the starts working again! Any ideas please! 👍

      Sorry, when I said lift up: it tilts, lifts up on the side where the winding pinion is so the teeth no longer engage, down on the side where the mainplate is worn. I think it's worn there more than is immediately apparent in the photo; it's a bit dark.   I shall get some photos of the crown wheel 😉 It's a Poljot 2614.2H. There is perhaps a bit of slop around the bushing, and some of the teeth may be slightly worn on the underside of the crown wheel. I'm not sure that if those issues are addressed it will fix the problem. I get the impression that having no support under one side is a bit of a design flaw that's asking for trouble.

      The stud has a neck that is a little smaller in diameter than the end and the hole is keyhole shaped so the stud locks in and I wouldn't need to worry about the thickness of the tail pulling it out of the hole. It might be possible to remove the stud from the existing spring, but I don't know how I'd go about doing that in such a way that it would be reusable. Maybe work around it squeezing with pliers until the riveted end became small enough to pass through the spring? A few more higher magnification pics of the pin/stud:
