This cross slide came from my Dad's stuff.  That block I am pointing to did as well.  They sat in different drawers with no indication that they were "related."

When my new (old) Levin lathe arrived with a cross slide, I saw this block mounted on the bottom and my head exploded.  No wonder I have never figured out how to resolve the alignment of the cross slide!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really do feel dumb, but that is OK, humility is not a bad thing.
