Eta 2824-2

As a collector of Watches I have a number of them that have the 2824-2 movement, what is the general opinion as to the quality of these movements.

Personally I think they are pretty good, though I have had a number of them that have not been properly lubricated.

That particular issue has been rectified by a full service.

Must also say I have had the same issue with Sellita on more than one occasion.

Absolutely, I tend to respect a lot these movements. They are durable and very precise for the price...depending on grade and brand.

There's a good reason the 2824-2 movement is in so many watches today, especially in military commissioned pieces like your Marathon.  They are a strong, reliable movement at a reasonable price.

Lots of people rubbish ETA, but it's mostly due to industry snobbery; and has little to do with function and design.

I worked on a lot of those in my day. I looked at it this way if the calendar mechanism is easy to work with its a good movement.
