Hi In what respect have you cut the coil? ,  Did you damage the coil whilist tinkering, and can you see the damage and more to the point where about is the damage. pan you post a picture(coseup )of the damaged area.  some of these coils can be repaired using a conductive paint or very carefully soldered, thats why where the damage is important.

Interesting little alarm clock.  In picture number two, it looks like one of the coil wires (at 1:00 O-clock on the coil) are cut possibly from tightening that screw and having the soldier tab rotating away.  If that is the case, I have not had much luck soldiering to fine magnet wires like this.  I usually break them completely off before even getting the varnish off.  If anyone has a good process I'm all ears.  Also can't tell, is that reflected light on the coil (behind the inside rim of the balance wheel) in the same picture or more coil damage?

Looks like you also have some hair spring work ahead of you.
