Ruby Cylinder Escapement.

I saw for sale an antique gold pocket watch with a ruby cylinder escapement,  it was up in the thousands and way beyond my pocket.  My question is this, is any person or firm capable today of making a new Ruby cylinder,  should this pocket watch ever need one?

This is one of those watches that I would love to have in my collection, but also afraid to have in my collection for that very reason! Especially, since I seem to drop everything I touch! This is not a good trait for a watchmaker! But my wife always seems to put a positive spin on things...."Hey, at least you are not a Bomb Tech!"

 

I wonder if it is possible to replace the ruby cylinder with a comparable steel cylinder and put away the ruby cylinder for safe keeping? Probably not that practical, though.
