Can't buy a case back directly from Tag Heuer

I am stuck. I need a case back and Tag Heuer.

I cant find the case back anywhere (ebay, etc...) but Tag Heuer itself. And they will only sell if I return the original.

At the same time you go to ebay and find a good amount of ORIGINAL-NOS parts, including cases, casebacks, etc... obviously they are not stollen & have been manufactured by Tag Heuer. 

How does it all work around the watch industry? How to buy these parts?

It's called grey market and exist in any trade. Authorized business do the purchase, also because they have to keep a certain inventory as manufacturer mandates, and then resell. It may have happened now or decades ago, and the goods may have changed hands various times.

But if no seller has the part that you need, your only choice is to give the watch to an authorized service center.

I have a number of OEM Tag Heuer casebacks, if you know the model number I can check. Also, if you don't have the model number, just post a photo here and we can probably figure out what it is. Thanks.
