How to tell if a movement has friction fitted och rub-in (burnished-in) jewels

I'm contemplating bidding on this movement. The mainspring is likely broken, but what I'd like to know is if it is possible to tell, by just looking at the picture, if the jewels are friction fitted or rubbed-in (burnished-in)?

Look like rubbed in to me, can't be 100% sure without seeing the underside. But they'd be pretty fancy friction jewels if friction.

Thanks! Yes, the jewel settings look really fancy. If I win the auction I'll take a picture of the underside. Never worked on rubbed-in jewels though.

I'm in agreement you can't tell Until you see the backside. But it definitely looks old enough to have burnished in jewels.
