hey guys

Probably something obvious but i cannot see it. This zenith 2452 c works great except the minute hand will not turn. hour hand and seconds hands run fine, just minute hand.All the train wheels are turning as they should beat is set correctly. Pinnion on which the minute hand sit on also not turning but does turn when i wind it up.

Im stumped, any ideas? suggesstions would be appreciated.

If the cannon pinion is not turning, how can the hour hand ?

That's the mystery. The canon pinion is connected to the center wheel, and carries the minute hand. It also drives the minute wheel, which carries the minute pinion, which drives the hour wheel. So it seems impossible that the minute hand could be immobile while the hour hand (hour wheel) move.

 

Anyway, just to check something, check that your canon pinion has decent friction, and that the minute pinion is firmly fixed to the minute wheel.
