Introducing myself!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

my name is Álvaro and I'm from Portugal. Professional musician, I'm also a watch collector and watchmaking enthusiast being that my father is a retired watchmaker (old school ie., no parts? Make it yourself!)😄. At the moment I'm gravitating around the Seiko brand and it's most common and less expensive vintage calibers/models. Like this one, 2107-0120 small size model. A bit frustrating as I can't manage to get it out of the case. Or I'm doing it wrong or the movement holder ring is really stuck!! 🙁 Help is much apreciated!

Cheers!

Welcome to WRT forum.

I can't tell if there is a rubber O-ring there, I pull out the stem to set position, press on set lever button and remove the stem, insert a driver in the hole stem was in, pry the retainer plate/ ring out.

That rubber ring has to come out, thats whats keeping the retainer plate so tight in place, it migh come out in pieces, take a soldering gun to it if needed. needs to be replaced with new one anyway. with stem out , just stick a screw driver into hole of the retainer plate  pry it off against the case

Good luck.
