Hi all just got this clock i know what you are thinking what a load of junk but for £5 i thought it was worth trying to get it to work,

i have put my tameside fusee clock to one side until i can find some steel tube to secure the mainspring  so i can get it in the barrel.

The information i am after does anyone know  where this was made like China or anywhere the guy i bought it off said it was german,

he also said it works if you give it a good shake?

Back in the 70's & 80's you could by these movements new from most clock supplies. If one came into your workshop and it was worn out you simply bought a new replacement, they came in different sizes, I think the smallest was 2 inch you could get different dials and hands. All you needed to do was just measure the hole. Yes they are German.

After cleaning. Put the balance wheel in a lath and stone the points until they are nice and sharp, clean out the cups making sure the are smooth inside that will give you a good action on the balance.
