Gradus - Another Under-Rated Make

Gradus was yet another solid Swiss manufacture from the 1950s/60s that used a selection of solid movements. They go from anywhere between £20 and £60 on the Bay or in auctions. Imagine my surprise when I spotted this one going for £8 on eBay - with no bids on it. Well ... you know me ... It needs a new crystal, and the bracelet will be replaced by a nice, new 18mm leather strap, but it's in excellent nick, with a nice FHF-ST 96 movement in it. A bargain as far as I'm concerned.

Nice catch Will, that's one of the movements used to train in the TZ course and is very nice, popular and strong.

i've never seen or heard of a gradus until now. there are two on fleabay - one of them is going for small money it seems. i might have to look a these in the future.i really like those underrated and underappreciated brands. it makes collecting a LOT cheaper.

Hi Will, can you estimate the diameter of the watch, please? Would you say it is about 38mm? Maybe bigger....smaller? Thank you in advance.
