Hi I'm attempting to fix one of my watches I thought the stem was broke but at closer inspection to me it looks like a problem with the crown it's a screw down crown and I'm wondering if it can be fixed or does it need replacing.

Is the crown made by BFG? Looks like the sort of crown you see on Monnin cases.

If the threaded pipe has come out of the fixed tube then you may be able to reassemble it and close the end of the fixed tube slightly.

This is the watch it's from its a guess collection. I thought the same as you by pushing it in and pinching the end slightly but wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do.

It can be quite tricky as you need to allow enough clearance for the square to still engage. If you have a lathe then split collets are very handy for tightening.

I don't have a lathe.

If you do use a pin vice then try to orient the jaws such that they align with the square key inside the crown.

Does any one know where I could buy that type of all in one stem and crown I have had a quick search but only found for omega. I just need a generic brand, or can I use a standard screw down crown with a screw in stem. Sorry if I'm making this harder than it probably is.

Cousins sell them, but you’d really need to identify what type you have. It may be Japanese, or “Japanese style”.
