Pocket watch movement identification

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping one of the veterans will jump in.  The movement kind of looks like it might be an Helvetia, or maybe A. Michel 220.  But it doesn't match either kind *exactly*.  Some kind of Swiss ebauche I'm guessing.

As to what "brand" or who made the case, I'll need to get back to you.  Sweet old watch overall.

Thank you very much for commenting, id be really interested in knowing what movement it is. The watch does need a balance staff you see.

Ah.  Then yes, you will need more exact information.  I will see what I can do.  And I think others here may soon offer their knowledge.  Meanwhile, are you certain the watch's trouble is given by the balance staff, and not one of the jewels?  What symptoms and signs does it give?

Yes it’s definitely the balance staff, it literally wobbles and has no pinions.
