Bovet chronograph Valjoux, it winds to change the time but not to actually wind the way h

Recommended Posts

Hello, looking for advice today.

Ive has this vintage Bovet chronograph for a while. But one day when I was wearing it, I wound it but couldn’t push the crown back into its original position. It is stuck in the changing time setting as opposed to winding the watch. This didn’t occur after me tampering with it, it just happened randomly as I went to wind the watch as I had many times previously. Wondering if anyone has any ideas? It’s almost as though the stem is now too short to get back to where it was. Would appreciate any advice....

I almost would think that is an Landeron 51 with an mysterious condition, but just looking at the chronograph part one can't say nothing about the keyless work except from what Nucejoe already suggests, so if you take the dial of and turn it around one might see something about why the stem comes loose and why it is stuck on setting mode.
