What is this part and what get's oiled?

Hi All

I'm a beginner.  This is an AS 1916.   It has an offset cannon pinion-wheel-clutch-thing.  The cannon pinion shown here doesn't snap into place.  My question is whether the center pipe (?) should get oiled or greased?  And should that brass hour wheel be lubricated?  Finally, the circled part appears to be part of the calendar works but appears to not interact with anything.  What's it's purpose and should it be lubricated?

Thank you

Charlie

Yes, oil the post the "faux" canon pinion fits on, and just a little on the outside of that where the hour wheel rides (this is often debated but is fairly standard professional practice now). The offset canon pinion will need to be lubricated as well, meaning it needs to be removed from its wheel.

The jumper is for the day disc, is there not a day function on your watch?

Yes there is a day function.

Would the post get oil or grease?  I've got Meobius 8000 oil and Western KT-22 grease.

Many thanks!

Charlie
