hey

Just looking to see why this watch ain't going.

And i presume its got something to do with the mainspring barrel.

Not seen this type before.

Is the siiver gear piece supposed to be loose like this? (see pics) and to a newbies eye it don't seem to be driving (powering any other wheel).

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi Gary   from what you describe sounds like the barrel is in need of either replacing or requiring attention . Its a while since I had my hands on one but I think the wheel should be stable but friction and able to rotate.

Mmmm looking at the bottom plate there are no wear marks from the barrel so it looks like it is in good order ( maybe ) I would say the whole movement needs inspecting, stripping, cleaning and lubing, it will happily work then I reckon
