Anyone Know Where Sells Clear Lids For These?

Recommended Posts

Purchased a few of these from a seller on eBay in France, they are made my Renfer.ch, I managed to track down their website from the name Renfer on the back of these parts trays, but the funny thing is, I cannot for the life of me find any clear/transparent lids for them.

Here's the official site for Johann Renfer.

They specialise in storage solutions in the watchmaking trade, but don't appear to stock ay lids for these trays, which is odd.  Looking at them, and comparing them with my standard 10 compartment trays, I could make a cover out of a couple of their lids, but even then, there would be 5 compartments in the middle exposed.

Here's the 25 compartment tray in question..

You can find the standard storage solutions, and the one above in the link below, there you will see their range of transparent lids too, but there are not listed for this 25 compartment tray.

Well the parts trays arrived, they are quite substantial, very solid construction, and lock on top of each other positively.

Here's a photo of one with the standard size parts tray on top, the dimensions are way off, so looks like clear perspex it will be, for making lids for these..

Been collecting movements for quite a while, and been servicing them by hand for the last year or so, so as you can imagine, I am stoked to finally be able to use my Super Elite very soon, just the rewiring to do, hoping to be able to make a start this weekend.

Hi Micky,

I was looking at your pictures on flickr and was amused to see we have almost, I mean, almost the same equipment (of the stuff that counts). It is as if we had shopped the same stores! I opened a thread about presses since I'm about to get a Horotec or similar and I see you already have one of those. Your comments there will be greatly appreciated.

I'm using now the same one you show that broke, probably Indian. It is not very precise...I also have many movements either fixed or in line to be fixed! Amazing! In any case, I think you are more resourceful than me considering the incredible job you are doing with your Elma and what you are trying to do here. Excellent job, keep it up!

Mark, we seem to be thinking alike about those trays. I figured I could use the top one for storing odds and ends that didn't require a lid too. I still will put something on top to protect the contents even if I use only a rag for this purpose considering it is dusty here where I live....aaaah! not a very pretty solution I guess! :)

Thanks, small world.!

Regarding dust, this is something I am competing with daily, as my work shop is located in the one side of our living room.  We have a very large living room, so it does not impede space.

Even though I use a damp cloth ever other day to wipe everywhere down around the apartment, mop the floors (no carpets), dust is still something that causes me much frustration, so much so, I have even been looking into getting a couple of these air cleaners for our living room.  Anyone have one of these, or similar?

I tried the filter, same brand, different model and small room (kids bedroom, for allergies)...it ended up in the bin! All that said, it was some time ago, the technology might have improved. As everything nowadays, lot of the stuff we buy is like a gamble! I have never used a robot...not into those yet. I'll wait until they resemble a human being, preferably a beautiful, pleasing woman...without the nagging! :)

I believe this HEPA model, HEPA is the term Officially certified to work, and do what its supposed to do, so I would say tech has advanced since back in the day.  These are not too expensive, so will probably take a punt, and see how it goes.
