Longcase clock very bad marriage.

Just look at this. Marriage its more like a divorce. See how the dial has been butchered in the centre to accommodate the centre wheel, which the hands are attached.

That does not look very nice. I also notice how he says he has the winding key but has no idea if the clock works... surely just out of interest you'd give it a quick wind and see if anything happens?

Wow, even I would of picked that up as a really bad marriage.

I hate it when a nice old dial is ruined like that.

It is not a marriage it is a 3some  , the movement does not belong to the dial, the dial does not belong to the case, the movement does not belong to the case. Look at the seating board, one attachment hook is in the right place, i.e. almost directly under the pillar the other is way off, see the gap around the dial it is smaller than the frame. It looks like it was put together by Frank Spencer (Some Mothers do Have Them fame).
