  1. Hi guys, I just had to share this one with you. It is a free download, but it is so good you just have to splash out and buy the unlimited version for £1.49 I have put it too the test today, one test involved a text in Russian to Denis on the forum. He returned the text in English and it was word perfect. It also helped me discuss technical details in Geman when purchasing Jacot tool today. Here's the App :-

  2. This is an old video and probably a few of you have seen it before, but it is still worthy of another look. Being a bit of a petrolhead, I just love it. And a V8 that runs!

  6. @Geo: Just today I broke one tooth of the jaxa that came in Christmas. It is supposed to work with the "Rolex" back press as an attachment. The reason is those 2 watches that have apparently rusted inside the threads (or the gasket has melted or something). In any case, I'm out of options to open them. In fact, I was thinking about a really heavy duty back opener and the horotec popped up in my mind....now with what Micky said, I'm a little reticent as to spend the money in that tool. I'll be very grateful to hear a full report from you on that one! @Doc: Pete, that is really a big watch and beautiful. I bet it was made so people didn't have to use glasses to read it! Perfect at my age!. Congratulations on a great present.

  7. The movement will cost you just under £30 from Cousins - plus postage of course - so that might be a better proposition than trying to diagnose and then repair it.

  8. That is one "Beast" of a watch Doc, the crown arrangement reminds me of a safety valve on a high pressure steam boiler. No probs with supination and pronation then? :-)

  9. Nothing has changed in 3000 years my friends. Even King Solomon, when discussing a man's life, opened with this statement in 1000BC. Ecclesiastes 1:2 (KJB) Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. ...and his father King David Psalms 39:5b (KJB) ...verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. The corporations know this, and use it for profit. So much for human progress huh :P If you wanna watch a very interesting BBC Documentary series on it. Look up "The Centaury of Self" on Vimeo, it's fascinating to say the least.

  10. Let's be honest Will, Rolex are are always overpriced. Even though they make minor tweeks to the movement, the are ridiculously expensive for what they are. I can understand there being a premium charged for the in house manufactured movements.
