  1. I personally wouldn't bother getting an air purifier, I just give my bench a dust with a microfibre cloth, and a good clean with a vacuum cleaner now and again. What I would recommend you get are a few cloches or jars to cover movement when you are not working on them.

  2. I'm well pleased for you, it's a great feeling when you are successful when into new territory. Keep up the good work.

  3. The problem with polishing any lens is you do by the nature of it remove some of the lens. The worst part seems to be right in the line of sight and must be irritating so It seems to me that your Mum is going to need new glasses anyway even if you don't try. Polywatch may very well work and in my experience does not take away too much plastic so I personally would have a go but take your time and check on the effects at short intervals - see what your Mum wants first though. If they are reading glasses I would not be as worried but distance glasses may be a different ball game. Cheers, Vic

  4. Decided to go the "Shim" route, as twatting the plate seemed a bit wrong. Also I would think that the indentations, front or back, of the screw holes would cause the Balance Cock to be on an incline, maybe causing the jewel to be out of alignment vertically. Anyway this is what I have done............. Shim made from edge of tablet strip...... Cut out with scalpel.... Holes for screw posts..... On the plate.... All done and running lovely..... :)

  5. You could try polywatch, cleans scratched acrylic crystals up a treat, but will probably remove the rest of the anti glare.
