  1. Hi Jim, if you've replaced the suspension spring check that it's the same length as the original, if it's longer that would do it, otherwise if the pendulum rod is at the end of its adjustment it normally means that the pendulum is too heavy, try changing it for a lighter one, hope this helps, Phil.

  2. Hi all, Im number98 (Number is not my actual name...lol). I started repairing watch movement at last year. Mainly on china movement like st6d, zsh and dg2813. Repair ETA 2836 once. Occupation as a student. Watch repairing is my hobby, i do it when im free. Interested in repairing watch movement last year when i owned a submariner homage which consist of the dg2813 movement and the movement is spoilt. If im not wrong because i drop it. And when i wind it, the second hand spins freely(because the pallet fork pivot broke). So i teardown but i dont know how to reassemble back. And when i do, i broke several gear pivot. So from that on i start to learn and to be more careful. So up to date, i can assemble a dg2813 without breaking any pivot and it works. Beside repairing watches, I do repair computer as well like soldering, fixing the GPU by using hot air and etc. Look forward to learn more on watch repairing! Your video on youtube is interesting. I look forward for more. Thanks :)

  4. Hi mark, I have a tip for you. Instead of scraping the old lume, you might wanna soak the hands in a acetone or any lighter fluid to soften the lume. I used to do your method until I try this. Its quite good though. The risks of scratching the hands is slim. If after soaking it still remain some, no worries just use a toothpick and scrape, use a rodico or the blower that you used to blow the old lume. Thats just my two cents :)

  7. Yeap. I do take picture using my iphone. But when i remove the mainboard, one of its setting lever drop on the floor! But i didnt aware of it. So the pics of me taking the movement was without the setting lever! I only discovered when i assemble back and ask myself where is the lever/button to press to release the stem? Lol.

  8. It has been a very long time since I worked on one of these so I am not entirely sure but I think the setting lever is only truly secure when the setting lever spring, circuit and cover plate is re-assembled. I do not think 9014 is suitable for this either, whilst it is thinner than 9010, you will possibly find that 9030 or Moebius Synthetic Quartz Watch Oil is more suitable and you should only put trace amounts on the wheel pivots, I don't recommend oiling directly in the jewels as you run the risk of too much oil. Too much oil on any quartz watch is bad - it will cause drag and not allow the wheels to turn efficiently (especially when you consider how little power pushes those wheels round).
