  1. Thanks very informative. It looks like it shares parts with the 690. The main difference being mine has a date wheel.

  2. Just checked julesborel's site, lists no hairspring stud for felsa 692. so lets go to Dr ranfft site which lists all variants of the family/ generation felsa 692 is a member of. If you have not visited Dr ranfft's site before. I enter the key words like felsa 692 ranfft Stud interchanges between all member of a family, this will broden you choices as you hunt. Good luck

  3. Shouldn't be hard to find a used replacement, plenty of damaged balance completes were replace with NOS, leaving behind damaged ones for parts. Stud off of some other calibers might also fit. Check julesborel.com. Good luck

  4. Doh! Just realised that the stud support can be rotated so (probably) no need to to rotate the spring on the collet.

  5. A fairly modern Westminster chime with a platform escapement. If you are thinking of giving it a clean you will need a clock mainspring winder to remove each of the three springs. Doesn't look as if there is any oil in the oil sinks which can and will cause wear, so re-bushing might be needed. These modern movements are not made of good hard brass but of soft brass and the same with the steel. If you are going to strip the movement down and repair it then put it all back I can help you with that. You are going to need some tools which I can advise on what you will need.

  6. That works too. But I really vouch for the "unbranded A*F", no further purchase necessary with these. Again, there is a world of difference between a driver that is correct dressed and wedges firmly on the slot, as opposed to one which tip touches the bottom and goes everywhere. It took me a good while to realize this, that's why I keep repeating it.

  7. It was normal during production to mark parts that had to go together on a given piece, because these had been selected or adjusted to be a perfect fit, giving better performances. In this case the marking is part of the serial number.
