Auto. Rotor Weight attachment?

Hi from a fan,

I have recently acquired a vintage Helvetia Diver and as with all my pieces, I opened it for an inspection.  It looked mostly clean with a little evidence of water damage.  All functioned including the rotation of the auto winder.  Upon closer inspection, I noticed a gap between the two pieces pictured.  I removed the screw and when in hand, the weight came loose from the mounting piece. 

My question is, are these two pieces supposed to come apart and how are they joined?  Are they press fitted, held together with friction, or is an adhesive used?  How should I repair them and does this indicate anything else I should be concerned?

They're not supposed to come apart. I believe they were originally glued.

Thank you for the response.  I was hoping someone had seen this happen before and was familiar with how to best remedy it.

You have been told above: it has to be glued.
