Hey everyone,

I have a beautiful calendar watch from the 50s and it's missing the caseback, which is snap on. Is it possible to make one on the lathe or modify one to fit?

Thanks alot

Nothing that is impossible i think . Watchmakers usually have a lot of old watches lying around. So either that or seaching on Ebay .

Thanks Rogart63, I don't have any case back that fits or kinda close to modify, I just put an acrylic crystal, I'm gonna glue it in when done with adjusting, for now till I find a solution.

Btw do you think a domed sapphire crystal would be a good idea?

Thanks everyone.0517181526.thumb.jpg.c8e3c7b1768db69888db9a32e7b9a4ee.jpg

What a great idea . At least you can use it until you maybe can find a fitting caseback . I think an acrylic crystal fit better then a sapphire crystal  would do.

It wears good too, I might find a thicker crystal and leave it like that, it looks good in my opinion and I don't wanna invest too much time in it.

Thanks alot
