Hi everyone, I barely know anything about watches.

Just wanted to ask if anyone knows how remove the front cover / crystal from a watch like this? :

I bought a watch repair kit. Tried using the 'knife' to pry it open, and also fixing it in a vice and trying to open it by turning it like in the last photo. That didn't work as well, since the vice does not provide enough grip and the whole watch just twists as one.

Do covers like these usually have threads? I.e. simply use a better vice?

Thanks very much.

Some time ago I encountered a watch with a front fixed bezel and it was not only press fit but they also used some glue/cement to keep it still... There might be some glue in there...

Looks like one of these fashion watches that aren't made to be taken apart ever (a push to buy again). One can try to go around the bezel seam with a blade until a caseback tool can be inserted, of course being very careful, as it's dangerous.

Tried a builder's knife. Seems like there's not way that will work, without totally ruining it.

At least learnt a thing or two about watches. Thank you for the replies.
