Hi guys

Have a Tissot Visodate which has a problem at 11pm. As the date wheel begins to turn the watch stops. I have cleaned and oiled the cross shaped wheel that engages with the date teeth and checked the wheel which appears to be true. Have also checked and replaced the date change spring which stops the date wheel at the correct place. Everything seems to be OK so does anyone think this might be a loss of power? New mainspring perhaps. Other than the problem mentioned the watch runs well for 23 hours and keeps good time!

It's probably caused by a loose canon pinion.  It will be tight enough for turning the hands only, but small amount of extra force required to change date comes int play, it is too much for the slack pinion to drive.

There are lots of articles about tightening canon pinions on the forum; use the search facility at the top right hand side of the page to track down information.
