FHF-59N beats faster than supposed to

Hi guys,

i just revived an old FHF-59N which is supposed to have 18.000 beat per second due to this website.
I use Watch o Scope which normally works really well, trying to set the watch.

But there is no chance that it finds 18.000 bhp. Its more in direction of 19.800bhp.

What could be wrong with the watch that the beat is to high ?

I don't know the movement, but if it is truly running extremely fast versus its intended rate, the first few easy checks would be:

o Magnetism - if magnetized, the coils of the hairspring may "stick" together - essentially shortening its length and thus increasing the rate of the watch

o Hairspring coils stuck due to other reasons - kinks, oil that has made its way onto the spring, etc.

Beyond that, there could be many faults, but these are the easiest to diagnose as a start.

if you use Watch o Scope  in the oscilloscope mode what does it look like?

Then this is a really tiny movement besides the already mentioned magnetism and or oil on the hairspring make sure the hairspring isn't touching anything like the balance arms. Because this is really tiny watch it's going to be a lot harder to see the hairspring where it's supposed to be.

I think you we're totally right!

After examining the piece with a 10x magnifier I found that it sticks on the 3 o'clock position in the image.
I think its still dirty there so i try to clean it with some watch cleaning fluid in the ultrasonic.

your hairspring picture looks like the hairspring you may be bent at the stud. This is why the coils are tight at the 3 o'clock position and greater spacing at the 9 o'clock position. So if rinsing doesn't work that's where I would look next.

the reason I asked for the oscilloscope is if anything was rubbing inappropriately it should show up on the oscilloscope as additional sound here and there which would confuse the software and I don't see any of that. It actually looks like a normal running watch other than a just running abnormally fast. Which is what would happen if the hairspring was touching itself or even touching the back side of the regulator pin.

then I'm noticing iyour oscilloscope diagram something that is set not correctly. The rate of the watch is measured from the sound of the roller jewel hitting the fork which unfortunately in this watch is extremely quiet. This is the first part of the waveform the line that's running across the screen tells the software where to trigger from currently it set to locking. To understand what I'm getting at in the user's manual for the software go to the section on the oscilloscope you'll notice the triggering line is really close to the bottom. It has to be above the noise and just catch the tiny sound of the roller jewel crashing into the fork. Then the second link different timing machine but explains this.

I was looking for over a year for a guide like that one, thank you so much!

You're were right the hairspring is bend, I will try to fix it according you Marc's guide.
I succeeded several times on a larger movement. But this hairspring is really challenging. 
Next thing what i've seen is that the regulator pin was bend quit a lot, when i tried to bend it back with a little bit of heat it just fell of, it had the size of a hair.
Luckily I found a replacement on eBay, let's see if i get it :)
