Elgin 293 Crown Wheel

Does anyone know for certain if the screw is regular thread or left hand on these? It is an unmarked screw, and mine won't budge in either direction with a normal amount of torque. Last thing I want is a screw extraction problem if I get it wrong.

Left handed should have three slots. Yours is unmarked, I wonder if its a replacement. I think you might have to chance it.

The screw is left handed.

Yes, crown wheels are usually left threded, or secured with an additional plate.
