Very new to working with movements and have two eta movements that I experience an issue with. The movements were new and working fine, until I started moving the date discs/wheels around, to practice taking off and putting back on. Now I have a crown winding issue -- when the crown is in time setting mode (Pulled out all the way), the crown requires a lot of force to turn. Like there is resistance that wasn't there before. Also, one of the movements only turn the hands when winding one direction, not both.

What have I done??

The first one is likely a winding wheel upside down, the second one check the keyless work at the stem. Hope it helps!

Keyless and Calendar works can be fiddly on the eta , probably worth watching Marks video

Thanks for the helpful comments and the video. I've seen that before -- but didn't guess that I could cause such problems if I wasn't taking the movement apart. Thanks

Hi Italiansub,

Did you remove the intermediate setting wheel, some watches have one side with the teeth cut at angle. If you have installed it upside this may result in the hard-winding.

hope this helps.
