Hey friends. I'm trying to find a suitable replacement for a Seiko V401 movement, but I'm having no luck while scouring the interwebs. I called Cas-Ker earlier and they said they don't have anything for me. Is this movement simply obsolete and I'm out of luck? Thanks!

Why a replacement? I think the movement is still available . Look for Hattori or Pulsar V401. Found this while searching . Maybe good for somebody? Interchange list http://stsupplyonline.com/catalog/MovementInterchange.pdf

STS supply has the movement.  http://www.stsupplyonline.com/catalog/pulsar-hattori-seiko-movements-c-28_387.html?page=2&sort=2a

Thanks rogart! I found that the VC11 might work, but there seems to be conflicting info on whether it's an exact interchange or if I'll need to get new hands/stem/crown in order to swap it out. Perhaps I'd just be better off ordering the actual V401 from ST Supply, despite the fact that it costs quite a bit more?

Same size on the hands? Can't see why it would not work? The stem you probably needs to change? I saw some other places that might have the V401 to . http://www.watchpartssupply.com/hattori-v401-movement-p-968.html

Ah, cool. Thanks for the info. I got a bit confused looking at Boley, which seems to suggest the hands are different: http://boley.de/en/caliber/watch-movements/hattory-pulsar/6781

Looks like I'll be going with the VC11 if the stem is all I need to change, that's no problem. I'll post back with the results sometime next week. Many Thanks!

That strange? According to boley the hands on the V401 are 045 x 090?  VC11 is 065 x 110. That means the hands would be to small .

Alright, here's the update: It appears as though the VC11 is a direct interchange for the V401. Both the stem & hands fit as they should, the holes for the dial feet are in the proper places, and the watch is working perfectly. Not sure what the deal is with the misinformation from Boley and ST Supply. Thanks rogart, and I hope this helps anyone with the same confusion in the future.
