Mineral Glass Replacement

Hello,

I am working on a Seiko quartz watch 6539 7020D. Its a dress watch in a 9ct gold case.

The crystal has some scratches, so I'd like to replace it. 

The question is how was it fixed in ? I cant see any traces of a gasket, so I'm assuming it was cemented in place.

Can I just re-cement a new mineral glass crystal in place, or should I use a gasket type ?

Looks like most Seikos  use a gasket.
