Clipper database? very vague recollections about software called clipper back in the DOS, C/PM days of yore Tom

Hi all Just wondering on this question. I use one of the generic simulfocus trinocular microscope, similar to the Amscope versions, mine is a Relife. It's fitted with the usual 0.5 Barlow lens to improve working hight and came with a 0.5 camera adapter, I am also using Relife 4k camera. Everything is working well, but one thing bugs me a little and that is the camera view is not even close to the eyepiece view. For example with the microscope at its highest setting I can see a little more than a pocket watch movement but the camera only sees around 2 thirds of the movement. I did try changing the camera adapter to a 0.35 one but that made negligible difference. Is there a way to improve on the area the camera sees to come close to what the eyepiece sees, or is that standard for these scopes. Thanks for any input on this. Paul.

Hello, left: time, seconds, of each position. If you changed the cap (not electrolytic!) from 4 to 10uF: 2.5x longer! right: number of positions in one sequence. Sure you need a watch mounted to hear ticking 😀 DIN connector: don‘t know what it is for. Frank

I didn't really feel like forking over $70 for a Bergeon one, so I designed and 3D printed my own. Just needs a 608 bearing in the base! Link to model file in case anyone wants to print their own.

thinking about how wonderful this is I wonder if it could convert a clipper program in DOS to something much newer that runs in Windows? Then I'm curious as to how many people reading this know what clipper is with out looking it up? In other words no cheating and looking at Wikipedia.
