Bulova Portes VC-10 cleaning machine.

Recommended Posts

There is a Portes VC-10  watch cleaner with a starting bid of $250.  Because it's local pickup only I think that I can get it for opening bid and have my brother pick it up and ship it to me in Milwaukee.  I'm useing a Watchmaster right now.  Is the VC-10 worth it?   Anyone have any experience with this machine?  Any advice?

It is missing the baskets but someone else has a set for $100.

To me the always look like something that belongs an operating room. I once worked in a shop that did the most watches of any shop I've ever worked at and that was the machine they used. So yes they do work but they're still a interesting design not that using vacuum to pull fluids up doesn't work Elm I has a machine that does that but then they throw in ultrasonic and the price is astronomical. Then I did look at the copyright date but I imagine the machine is actually quite old I don't know if you'll build a get spare parts baskets or anything else for them anywhere anymore

Any Idea if these worked good?

I used to have one of these machines. Did a great job, but really only for a high volume shop since the fluid went bad quickly if you used it or not since it was all vented to the air when not in use. And it uses alot of fluid.

Even if you sealed the jars when not using, residue of fluid in the hoses and machine would become sticky, and then when you used the machine would mess up the good fluid.
