Benrus jewel issue

Can someone help me please a just fitted an new jewel from one of my  assortment of jewels benrus 754 but a notice It can't seem to be given any end- shake or side-shake even when adjusted upper and down jewel the escape wheel stiff can the cause be the wrong  size jewel?

It could be. Put the plate or bridge with the new jewel inside facing upwards on a flat surface so it doesn't move about or wobble. Use some Rodico if necessary. Try the pivot in the jewel you fitted, with the opposite pivot pointing upwards with no support. The staff should tilt slightly to one side. It should be possibly to gently tip the escape wheel left to right then right to left, and you should see some free movement. If the staff point vertically upwards and doesn't tilt freely, the hole in the jewel is too small. Remove the jewel and fit the next size up.
