Cross Slide Table

I have had some success machining a balance staff with a graver. Would a cross slide table make this process easier?

I make staffs regularly, and always use a cross slide. It makes it so much faster.

I am going to try this.  I know you have suggested it to me in the past but the few I have made, I have done by hand.  I have the Levin which is English and my unbranded which is metric.  The Levin is "tighter" with limited backlash...better than the unbranded.  One advantage that you have mentioned is the ability to make lateral measurements...a challenge otherwise.
