Timing washers, matching, sorting, measuring...

Recommended Posts

I have a labeled assortment of timing washers.  I also have a small bottle of "assorted" timing washers.  From time to time, I take a timing washer out of a bottle and it loses its way back to the bottle from which it came.

There is no way to match them by weight with the tools I have.

Do I match them by thickness??

They all appear to be the same diameter (I have not done a thorough analysis of this).

Apart from ebay, has anyone found a supplier of timing washers?

I have a nice set of pocket watch washers - the smallest are Size '0' (13''') which I can use on some wristwatches, but I'd like a better selection.

Twice recently I've had hairsprings break at the studs, which when re-studded, requires quite a few timing washers.
