Lathe threading die holder

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I recently acquired a g boley 8mm lathe (d bed style) and as I will need to create a few screws I started looking for a die holder that would fit into the tailstock (my lathe also has the option to hold collets in the tailstock) so that I can easily cut multiple threads and avoid turning by hand which is more error prone.

I cannot find any “official” boley documentation about a die holder so I’m turning here for advice. I see a lot of sellers selling different size morse tapers on amazon, but I have a bit of a hard time envisioning how that would fit onto the actual tailstock (maybe via some sort of adapter?)

Does anyone have recommendations around this, interested in hearing how everyone here cuts the screw threads?

Thank you very much
