Help with ratchet wheel removal

Recommended Posts

The crown wheel was reverse threaded and came off easily.

The screw for the ratchet wheel is very tight when turned counter clockwise and I am afraid of shearing it off.

The watch was marketed by a UK dealer, I would guess late 20's or early 30's

Is there ever a movement that has both crown and ratchet wheels reverse threaded?

Any advice on removing "stuck" screws would be helpful

Yes, it is fairly common, as it saves cost with tooling. Try turning it a little the other way. You will either find it is anti-clock, or you may break the 'stiction' and it will come free clockwise.
