I know that this is by no means an expensive watch, but to me, it's priceless. This was an engagement gift from my then girlfriend, now Wife in 1995. It stopped working after a couple of years. I sent it to the Timex repair centre in the UK but they sent it back unfixed and it sat in a drawer ever since. I don't actually recall what went wrong with it.

I purchased a new battery for it today to see what was and wasn't working.

The main problem with it (which I don't remember being an issue), is that the stem simply pulls out, and when inserted, there is a slight gap between the crown and the casing. In order to get the hands to move, I have to push the crown in - but it doesn't stay in place. The Indiglo function is working fine.

The mechanism is a Timex M649 which I cannot find a replacement for, so I was hoping that someone may be able to help guide me in a repair?

With kind regards,

Chris

Timex service is limited to only a year or two after manufacture.   So no surprise they just returned it.   I don't work on these very often and can't add much.  Other than to say the best route maybe to find a donor watch to swap out the movement.
