This is in very good condition it’s a dual chiming and it has a built in setting to turn the chimes off from the hours 11pm to 7am. It cost me £250 which I consider a bargain, I was prepared to go up to £400.

No not Art Deco that was way before this clock. This is from the 60's, art deco was from 1920s and 30's.

Are the cases typically veneered?

No. Each made out of a solid block of wood highly polished. Don't know about the one I just bought until it arrives sometime this week.
