The balance is not in original condition for sure, but this doesn't mean the roller is not original (or doesn't mean it is original as well). I would advice to check how the roller interacts with the pallet fork and how the balance sits in the movement and if it is positioned OK with the bearing stones, pallet fork cock and center wheel. So, just glue in some way the roller and see what You have... The next thing (if everything seems OK) is the hairspring and free oscillations test, and confirming if the oscillation frequency is correct. -
Slippage must be at a high torque point to be sudden.

Screwdriver is not a bad idea. I measured the movement I had on hand and I got 0.9mm x 1.3mm for the regulator block and 1.2mm x 1.7mm for the hairspring stud. I am now thinking that I might just file a suitably sized slot across the end face of a 3mm brass rod that I might reduce in diameter at the tip.

I had a feeling the worst would happen, and it did. The smallest pressure applied to the crown broke one side of its little leg. I think I'll replace it with a traditional system if possible. This, I believe. I'm shocked at how expensive the parts for this model are.
