Something for the weekend.

I've just taken receipt of a couple of clocks to while away a merry weekend afternoon. One of them is a bit of a state and needs repairs to both the cabinet and the  mechanism. The second however is a bit of a beauty. It's an Ansonia Clock - Turkey 8 day strike - it's actually in quite good condition and runs well so I don't plan on doing too much to it other than a good clean. That said, does anyone have any experience of these clocks, know any history or things to look out for? any information would be much appreciated.

If you take it apart you will need spring clamps to hold the springs, make sure you never bend any of the levers as this will cause the strike side to go bananas. These movements have lantern pinions they work better in slightly looser holes then a pinon leave movement.

Here is a good exercise for you try putting all the parts back together including both springs without the clamps not using any bad language. ?
