Medium-Length Saga Has Happy Ending...

Recommended Posts

Last month I asked about regulating an Omega Chronostop, which was losing about a minute a day, and taking Geo's and others advice, I centralised the pointer and moved the rate regulator a tiny amount. After several adjustments it was improved, then I turned the screw a quarter turn at a time. I did that twice, then finally an eighth of a turn, and set it by the frightfully well-spoken pips of the BBC time signal.

After three days, each time I checked, it was spot on, and is now rock-steady and not losing or gaining at all. It would be interesting to see the results on a timegrapher.

I noticed on Will's watch page that a movement should start within two turns of the crown; this one starts the instant you turn the winder.

Incidentally, Mr Pedantic says that if you use the radio time signal to check a watch, it is best off an FM radio than the internet as there is usually a delay.

Regards,

Frank.
