FE 233-66

Recommended Posts

hi all.just stripped and serviced a FE 233-66 which i know is a cheaper mvt but will do me until i think i am more proficient.having a problem getting the balance going although it feels free and all the other wheels etc are spinning as they should, but a bit of patience i should be ok.the problem i have is that when i took it apart (carefully) i spotted a spring and a date jumper lying on the mvt but not where they should be and i do not know where they should go.any ideas?.are they for quick date because when i put the date disc and the cover the date changes when winding normally although the stem only seems to come out to two positions!B.

Hi Bernie   The detent will fit on the post nearer the date ring with the nose in the ring teeth exactly how the spring fits, just a guess, between the other post and the detent tensioning the detent into the ring the plate will hold them all together.

Attached the FE tech sheet for you.

fritted the pieces and seems ok but the date just moves the same as it before i fitted those parts!Weird.

You should lube the date mech including where jumper and its spring travel.

What kind of amplitude are you getting?

im not.as i said in my post i have everything moving but i could not get the balance to kick in.after a bit of fiddling about i noticed there was too much of the spring showing and then i discovered it had come away from the stud so i have to get that back in then go from there.happy days!

A picture of coil's top view and one of side view, helps.

If you show the stud holder, older versions came with fixed stud holder, on newers  of the same caliber stud holder was changed to mobile stud carrier so putting the impulse in beat is more involved with the older, which you need to do considering the coil needs work.

I thought I might. I will trawl through the suppliers etc and see if it is economical to fix or put the mvt to one side for future use or to sell for spares.

Good idea, this one is beyound hope, it looks like you avatar stuck her nose into the coil.  lol ?
