Spring bar types

Hello everyone

I have several Rolex metal bracelets, each with some issues.I am a noob hoping to learn enough to repair and maintain them. my question is: how do I decide between a spring bar with rounded tips or flat tips? To be used to attach the bracelet to the watch head. any advice or comments will be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

That all sizes are correct is more important than the tips shape.

Genuine ones and good quality replacements have rounded tips. Rounding of flat ones is possible, but not worth the effort. The rounded tips are less likely to mark the inside of the lugs too- not that anyone sees that...

Rounded ones can be had from WO990 on eBay as well as from Startime (as their "Swiss" ones). I buy them ten or so at a time and replace the spring bars every time I take a bracelet off, as cheap insurance.

Note that besides the length between lugs, on Rolex (like Seiko) you need to be mindful of having "lug holes" or not, as well as the body diameter.
