Second Hand Question

Question

I have a luminox quartz with an eta 251.471 movement that I had to replace the movement and tritium tubes. All is well except when I went to install the sweep second hand I buggered it up and need to order a new hand. I have several assortments of hands but I dont think I have the right size. I just need to know that the hand Im looking for is a .3 as thats whats stated on the movement info I found. The ones I have are too small and even though I have broaches I think itd just be easier to buy a new hand. Also it seems that the ones I have the tube part of the watch hand is too short. Any advice or help as to where to shop for this size hand would be helpful.

I would suggest a watch material suppler. Can you measure to old one? you will probably need the cal number of the movement.

At the top of the page you will see Resources, it will show Parts & Tools Suppliers, click that and a list will come up and look for the country you need.

ETA 251.471 uses a .30 second had as stated above. Any with right length and  that satisfies the OP will work.

Thanks. Yes. Im fairly confident its a .3. I spoke with a tech at cas ker and they have one on the way....

This time even though I have an active account with them and have purchased a ton of stuff I got the "are you a watchmaker" interrogation......the watch police must be on red alert.

    • Are you sure it is the correct tube. When I have fitted they are just friction fitted. If just a snug but not tight using loctite will work.

    • Cheers mates!! Im working on a Seiko 7123A, im ususally not doing quartz, they are so unpredictable I think... Or is it I dont know them good enoght.... anyway. I have oiled all bearings, cleaned, og had to fix a little on the quick set on the date and day. And now the quick set work, the date and day skifts when I turn th hands 24 hours. The movment runs fine, and keeps time. But when is shall shift date and day during the night, the movment stops around 01.30, but the second hand works. It seems like the movment cant drag the calender work through the shift.   Can somebody pls help me with what the cause is??
    • Famous painters might paint a water colour in 4 hours. 50cents paper and paints. worth a fortune. Go figure. I heard a story about Picasso who used to sign table cloths in restaurants after entertaining a large group and never got billed. He also said he could buy a house if he painted something.... Sure there is clever marketing in watches, but I don't think the inherent value is actually in the materials...perhaps its something else less tangible.
