Diesel Daddy 2 - DZ 7314 - battery replacement

Rez

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

The title is self explanatory. DZ7314 runs on 4x 377 batteries. I'm trying to replace them. Two were easy but I am having difficulty with the other two.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

This should be the same:

A big thanks for the video. It looks very much the same as mine. However I cannot get the result he's getting. :)
The battery for the chronometer watch(closer to the front of my hand once I wear it), he manages to fit it in by pushing/sliding the battery in. In my case, the batter sticks out from the holder from the side closer to the centre of the watch. There is a little bar passing over the edge closer to the side of the watch, once I slide in the battery underneath of that bar, the edge closer to the centre of the edge, has no holder or fit which keeps it in place.

For the other batter (for the watch closer to my elbow), there is a screw he's loosening then tightens once battery is in place. In my case, the battery doesn't seem to be fully fit in place. So tightening of that screw doesn't help.

Hi I am looking to purchase a Watch for my husband for Father’s Day . I’m looking for something with 4 time zones on it so I can set three of the clocks to the times of our children’s births and keep them stationary. And the forth zone active and working so he can wear it. I spoke with a watch repair shop that recommended the Diesel brand as they run off multiple batteries. The problem I’m having is finding out which watch will work I liked the DZ7360 but can’t find if it takes 4 batteries or not. The big daddy is the only one I can find that I know has multiple batteries would this style be the one that would best fit what I’m going for ?

Hi Texas Don     what make and calibre are the four modules  , make and number, The two that look alike look like miyota 2030/35 modules  the bottom one a ronda ? anfd the larger top one I cant decipher. It mayb that not all the batteries are the same in all modules causing the problem..the miyota ones are i think 377s but the others untill we know the make and calibre are unknown .  Miyota tech sheets attached      Battery SR626SW   cheers

    • When faced with say a pocket watch bridge which is cracked, silver soldering to repair is often the only option (hopefully someone wasn't there before hand with soft solder). I can generally do this succesfully and tidily with a small torch and miniscule pieces of silver solder, but on parts which were mercury amalgam gilded the heat can have have a deleterious effect on the finish.   I keep wondering if there's a good way to refinish these - and despite having the needful items would rather avoid using the mercury process.   In the past for electronic work I've gold plated PCBs but this involved gold potassium cyanide solution, which also doesn't realy belong at home. I've read that there are now safer alternatives but couldn't find more detail (and importantly how similar are the results to amalgam gilding, since I wouldn't want to refinish the whole watch). Pointers would be very welcome (and yes, I know solutions containing gold won't be cheap!) Alan
    • The first one is an Unruh max stake for pushing out staffs
    • Ok so with the great answers for my previous question may I ask what these two attachments are used for. The one with the red knob is I assume used for hand setting the seconds hand? Jon
    • According to Cousins site I need to look at document G22 as I think I need an ATGB at 304 but I cant find this size in G22 doc. The last thing I want to do is order the wrong one😳  Unless I cant see the wood for the trees 😆 I could be looking at the wrong style, I assume its classed as Round plastic Armed  https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/wide-ring-gold-atgb
    • When building a new Watch I have tended to use a file to remove the remnants of dial feet that are not needed as many dials come with four feet to accomodate different movements, but this can be a bit messy so now I use this with a great deal more precision as you can use an appropriate bit for the job and keep it very localised.
