Old PW Cleaning and Guess what

Recommended Posts

Here is the catch of the day for this one an L.W.C pocket watch.
1. Balance pivot jewel
2. Balance pivot
3.third wheel pinion

I already rubbed in a new jewel and begun the hunt for the parts.. never a dull moment with pocket watches.

This is off centre as well and a screw missing.

Yes there was a screw missing in the regulator cap.  probably the cause of how the balance got out of position. Makes one wounder when it fell off since it's obviusly been working for a while grinding the jewel to pieces and as you say slightly of center. All the Pictures are of the broken pieces.
The setting lever screw isn't missing just still lying in the parts bin. When and if the new parts gets aquired the complete watch comes together....

That is a bit of work. You need to cut a new balance staff as the pivot is broken.
