So it finally happened; a broken inca spring ...

I’m working on this nice eta 2391 movement and the last bit in reassembly is to open and put in the incabloc. And one spring leg just falls off when opening the darn thing....

This being a first I’m asking for advice how to proceed. The spring appears completely locked into its position, I can see no way to remove it as things are.

So I presume the entire inca seating has to be pushed out from the other side, at least a bit, to allow for slipping out the broken one and sliding in the new and then pushing the seating in again?

If so, obviously requires removal of the h/s.

Am I looking in the right direction here? Or are there other and hopefully simpler methods?

Photo of my part is attached.

You need to see the other side of the balance bridge as to whether you're lucky or you're going to need special tools. If you're lucky there's just a clip that can be slid out and the entire assembly comes out otherwise it has to pushed out with tools.

Right you are and lucky I am, there’s indeed a clip holding the seating. And when mentioned, I have seen that on other movements but never considered why it was there.

Should be a walk in the park or maybe not :-) from here.

I hope that assortment of inca springs I bought a while ago from Cousins has one that fits...

Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

    • I am sure you agree that,    " physical reality is actually made up of structured information "  which defines the states energy may  realize in prescribed  states.      Universe is committing suicide then most of its functions stops, but what we know as  gravitation remains, thus ( as he concludes)  gravitation proves of no essence  for actualization  previous functions universe used to work according to.   No doubt mathamtic systems man has deviced  is basic and not neccessarilty correct . But if universe is informational,  its also computational.   Then we have something thats has no essence and computation systems indicates it as virtual.
    • Oh that is lovely, thank you. I also just cracked the crystal and lost one of the shock absorbers, so its gone in the separate baggy of 'maybe-one-day' 😄 I did learn the valuable lesson of not disassembling the shock absorbers. My next one is a Zaria 1509B. I think this one I'll take a bit more time with cause I'll need to source a couple of bits. It's also scary teeny.
    • More data on the oscillation tests: Vertical: 15-20 seconds…Abysmal Dial up: 1 min 15-30 seconds Any thoughts @nevenbekriev @JohnR725? My next thought is to oil the balance jewels to see if that helps. It’s certainly one major thing left that I haven’t done.
    • Hi. Once the pins have been withdrawn the brace let comes apart, never had a problem with these.
