Identify the maker

There was a label P. Dold, Ireland but cannot find anything else. I am not sure P. Dold is the maker or the seller. It is a Tambour Mantle clock.  Any help is appreciated I need to know how heavy the pendulum should be.

Could you take a good clear photo of the whole back plate. Other photos of the movement could also be useful.

I’m unable to find the maker of this clock. I’m 99% certain this is German, its an 8 day strike, strikes on a gong at the half hour and then the full hour with rack striking and anchor escapement. 

Is the case a mantle or wall? The style might help.

Camel back or Tambour style.

   welcome to the forum.  the pendulum  weight and length is a minor problem.  finding (or building} a good  pendulum shaft is important.  vin

That style is called napoleon. Made around the 1930’s

In reference to the P Dold clock

Peter Dold was a master clock maker born in Germany (1858-1943) he moved to Ireland where he opened a shop in Kilrush Co Clare Ireland. His son Peter took over the shop.

That info gives a clear answer as to why the Irish Harp is on the back plate and the movement is German.
